Alternative Abstract
This study is designed to explore the many aspects of the English language education in South Korea. It presents a comprehensive overview of the English language fever in contemporary Korean society and describes its unique characteristics. It takes a deep look at the consequences and the implications of the preoccupation with the English language and explains their impact and significance for the different parts of the society. The study also proposes possible explanations about the origins and causes for the English fever. Finally it offers some suggestions about the future development of the issue.
