Alternative Abstract
This paper presents a reduction method of common mode voltage for parallel connected inverters applied model predictive control algorithm with subdivided voltage vector. The energy storage system (ESS) using parallel connected inverters can extend the capacity of total system. In order to control the parallel connected inverters of the ESS, the MPC algorithm with subdivided voltage vector can be used. It has various voltage vectors unlike the conventional MPC algorithm using the limited number of voltage vectors. Therefore, it is improved quality of grid currents. However, the common mode voltage (CMV) is generated during its operation. Since the CMV causes various problems, a number of literatures have studied about reduction methods of the CMV. However, those methods are increased the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the grid currents. In this paper, the reduction method of the CMV for inverters in parallel using the model predictive control (MPC) algorithm with subdivided voltage vector is proposed. Through the phase difference of each inverter, the CMV is reduced in parallel connected inverters. The validity of the proposed reduction method is verified by simulation and experimental results.
