Alternative Abstract
The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationships between job embeddedness and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and turnover intention. Based on literature review, two mediators were identified: employee engagement and job satisfaction. In order to test the hypothesized relationships among study variables, survey responses collected from university employees in South Korea were analyzed. A set of multiple regression analyses reveals that job satisfaction mediates the relationship between job embeddedness and OCB and turnover intention. In addition, it shows that employee engagement mediates the relationship between job embeddedness and OCB and turnover intention. The findings provide implications that help organizations find ways to increase employees’ OCB and decrease their turnover intention.
