This research covers promotion policies of capital market Korea committed and succeed in the initial development stage between 1960s and 1980s. The purpose of this research is twofold. The main motivation is to comprehend the policy approaches Korea took, and the second is to cluster the experiences which can benefit policymakers into Cambodia. Having similarities in term of politic and economic tendency, there are two fundamental components of Korea’s lessons to stimulate the implication over the capital market promotion policy in Cambodia. First, the trustworthy commitments of the Korean government to intervene and to incite the increase of equity offerings or Initial Public Offerings (IPOs). Second, by the undeniable fact of the economic boom in Korea, promotion policy of capital market plays a very important role to mobilize the domestic capital into national economic, as well as to diversify the source of financing for the significance of industrial development and Koreans harmonization.
This study highlights the significant relations between capital market and economic growth. In addition, this research provides the findings as reference that would reflect to the design and implementation of policy priorities to flourish the capital market which contributes the sustainable of Cambodian economic growth.
