dc.description.alternativeAbstractWe designed new styryl quinolinium crystals with methoxybenzenesulfonate, named OHQ-MBS (2-(4-hydroxystyryl)-1-methylquinolinium methoxybenzene sulfonate). OHQ-MBS aligned in non-centrosymmetric structure which is almost as same as OHQ-T (2-(4-hydroxystyryl)-1-methylquinolinium 4-methylbenzenesulfonate). Molecular properties were investigated by TGA, DSC, UV-vis absorption spectroscopy. The OHQ-MBS crystals have almost same properties compared to OHQ-T, even though the anion is methoxybenzenesulfonate group which is larger than methylbenzenesulfonate and can rotate. The OHQ-MBS crystals were grown in single solvent (methanol) and co-solvent (methanol:acetonitrile (1:1 mol.)) with temperature cooling method and solvent evaporation method. In the grown crystals, we could have known that OHQ-MBS crystals show different morphology and optical property in THz-frequency region in comparison with OHQ-T crystals.-
