dc.description.abstract | 본 논문은 현대건축과 도시공간에서 나타나는 경계와 이를 이루는 경계공간에 관하여 고찰하고 있으며, 다양한 공간요소에 의한 경계면이 가지는 공간적 가능성과 역할에 대하여 연구해 본다. 현대사회는 정보, 통신 기술의 발달과 그 폭넓은 확산으로 인하여 삶의 범위는 더욱 넓고 다양해 졌으며, 이로 인하여 삶의 질은 더욱 풍요로워 졌다. 이러한 현대사회의 특성은 사회전반에 걸쳐 다양성과 속도, 확산이라는 특징을 가지며, 이러한 특징은 도시와 건축에서도 노마드적 특징, 네트워크적 특징, 미디어가중심이 되는 미디어 시티등 다양한 방법으로 나타나게 된다. 도시, 건축은 더욱 다양한 활동이 이루어지고 있으며, 이러한 활동을 이루는 영역과 주체가 만나고 교류하는 하나의 사회적 영역으로서의 역할을 하고 있다. 다양한 활동과 영역은 새로운 경계를 형성하게 된다. 이러한 현대사회를 구성하는 활동과 영역 등의 다양한 요인들 간의 경계는 더욱 다양한 양상과 형태를 보이고 있으며, 기존의 단절적, 확정적 경계에서 나아가 다양한 의미와 소통의 매개체로서의 성격과 특징을 보인다. 본 연구에서는 현대 건축에서 보이는 다양한 성격의 경계면과 경계공간에서의 소통과 확산적 성격을 ‘인터페이스’라는 개념을 중심으로 고찰하고자 하였다. 내부와 외부, 가상과 실재, 내부공간간의 상호작용 등을 통하여 구분이나 경계가 없는 건축적 통합체로서의 새로운 가능성을 만든다. 현대건축에서의 인터페이스공간은 단순히 서로 다른 두 가지 세계를 단절하고 구분 짓는 확정적 의미에서 나아가 두 영역이 소통과 교류를 통하여 새로운 의미를 만들고, 다양한 성격과 사건을 유도하는 공간을 의미하게 된다. 이러한 인터페이스적 공간은 물리적 형태의 변화와 새로운 구축은 물론, 새로운 인식적 경계의 모습으로서 나타난다. 이러한 특징은 공간을 구축하는 재료의 물성과 건축 외피 및 미디어와 인터렉티브적 요소와의 결합으로 대표되는 새로운 표현방식 등의 시, 지각적 요소와 건축적 프로그램의 새로운 정의와 도입에 따른 사회적 배경의 반영이 다양한 요소간의 만남과 그에 의한 새로운 영역을 만들고 있음을 보인다. | - |
