Abstract
본 연구는 응급실 간호사의 COVID-19 간호의도와 COVID-19관련 지식, COVID-19에 대한 태도, 간호근무환경의 수준을 파악하고, COVID-19 간호의도에 대한 영향요인을 파악하기 위해 수행된 서술적 조사연구이다. 본 연구는 9개 상급종합병원과 6개 종합병원에 재직 중인 임상경력 6개월 이상 응급실 간호사 151명을 대상으로 하였으며, 2022년 3월 3일부터 4월 24일까지 온라인 자기기입식 설문지를 통해 자료 수집하였다. 통계 분석은 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA와 상관관계, 위계적 회귀분석을 이용하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 응급실 간호사의 COVID-19 간호의도는 7점 만점에 평균평점 4.21±0.66점이었다. COVID-19관련 지식은 총 25점 만점에 평균 21.51±2.56점, COVID-19에 대한 태도는 총 60점 만점에 평균 47.05±4.06점이었다. 간호근무환경은 4점 만점에 평균평점 2.40±0.45점이었고, 하위영역으로 ‘간호사와 의사의 협력관계’ 와 ‘간호관리자의 능력, 리더십, 간호사에 대한 지지’ 영역의 점수가 가장 높았으며, ‘충분한 인력과 물질적 지원’ 영역의 점수가 가장 낮았다. 2. 응급실 간호사의 COVID-19 간호의도는 성별(t=-3.640, p<.001), COVID-19 교육 이수 경험(t=5.292, p<.001), COVID-19 환자 간호 경험(t=2.591, p=.011)에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 3. 응급실 간호사의 COVID-19 간호의도는 COVID-19관련 지식(r=.173,p=.033), 간호근무환경(r=.428, p<.001)과 유의한 양의 상관관계를 나타내었다. 4. 응급실 간호사의 COVID-19에 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인은 COVID-19 교육 이수 경험(t=4.613, p<.001)과 간호근무환경이었고(t=3.934, p<.001), 설명력은 32.2%(adj. R2=.322)로 나타났다(F=12.849, p<.001). 구체적으로, COVID-19 교육 이수 경험이 있는 자가 경험이 없는 자보다 COVID-19 간호의도가 높았으며(β=.336, p<.001), 간호근무환경을 긍정적으로 인식할수록 COVID-19 간호의도가 증가되었다(β=.290, p<.001). 이상 연구결과를 바탕으로 향후 COVID-19관련 지속 교육과 COVID-19를 비롯한 신종감염병 대비 의료상황에 적합한 응급실 간호근무환경을 개선할 필요가 있으며, 이를 통해 궁극적으로 응급실 간호사의 긍정적인 COVID-19 간 호의도를 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
Alternative Abstract
This study aimed to explore emergency nurses’ nursing intention to care for patients with COVID-19, the knowledge of and attitude toward COVID-19 and the nursing work environment, and to identify influencing factors on the nursing intention. The participants were 151 emergency nurses at nine tertiary and six general hospitals in Korea. Data were collected from March 3 to April 24, 2022, using an online self-report questionnaire. The date were analyzed by descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression using IBM SPSS 23.0 program. The main results are as follows. 1. The mean scores of emergency nurses’ nursing intention for COVID-19 patients, knowledge of and attitude toward COVID-19 were 4.21±0.66 out of 7, 21.51±2.56 out of 25 and 47.05±4.06 out of 60, respectively. The mean score of the nursing work environment was 2.40±0.45 out of 4. As for the subscales of nursing work environment, ‘Collegial nurse-physician relations’ and and ‘Nurse manager’s ability, leadership, and support of nurses’ had the highest scores while ‘Staffing and resource adequacy’ had the lowest. 2. There were statistically significant differences in nursing intention to care for COVID-19 patients according to the gender (t=-3.640, p<.001), and COVID-19-related education experience (t=5.292, p<.001), and the experience caring for COVID-19 patients (t=2.591, p=.011). 3. The nursing intention to care for COVID-19 patients showed a significantly positive correlations with the knowledge of COVID-19 (r=.173, p=.033) and the nursing work environment (r=.428, p<.001). 4. As a result of the multiple regression analysis, factors influencing nursing intention for COVID-19 patients were found to be COVID-19-related education experience (t=4.613, p<.001) and nursing work environment (t=3.934, p<.001). The explanatory power of the model was 32.2% (adj. R2=.322, F=12.849, p<.001). In detail, nurses with education about COVID-19 showed a greater nursing intention than those without (β=.336, p<.001). Moreover, those with a positive perception regarding the work environment showed a higher nursing intention (β=.290, p<.001). The present study suggests that continuous COVID-19-related education and the improvement in the a nursing work environment should be considered to enhance the nursing intention of emergency nurses to properly care for the patients with COVID-19.
