Alternative Abstract
Abstract Electric energy always plays an important role in the life of the community as well as in economy development. In fact, it can safely be said that the modern economy is totally reliant on electricity. This phenomenon may lead to an increase in the electricity generation, distribution and Transmission. However, sometimes local generation is not quite enough to meet the demand and required alternative sources even in shape of import of electricity from other neighboring countries to meet the indigenous demand like from Thailand, Laos, Vietnam etc. In current studies, minimization of the power loses at different load centers located in Ratanakiri region in Cambodia are deliberated, while installation of capacitor banks in pursuance of their selection on the basis of CAPO method for optimization in accordance to the results analyzed while using the software (i.e. PSS/ADEPT). The results show performance in the voltage profiles and reduction in the power losses after capacitor installation which resulted in estimated savings US $148,478 per year. Keywords: capacitor bank, Optimization capacitor bank, PSSE Software, PSS/ADEPT Software, Total Power loss, Case study distribution in Ratanakiri, CAPO method.
