Entrepreneuring, as an oriented process of entrepreneurship is increasingly considered to be instrumental in sustaining peace and development. However, societies affected by conflicts are impacted by socioeconomic constraints to the extent that mobilization and utilization of resource for reconstruction of the country in general, and for rehabilitation of marginalized community, like disenfranchised survivors in particular, are quite challenging. Community Empowerment in entrepreneurial activities is seen to be strategic in resource mobilization and community organizing to help remove social and economic constraints of survivors in their post-conflict situations. Albeit potentially rich, but fragile and developing country in the African continent, DRC is a post-conflict state and has, of course, get international and regional attention for its reconstruction. Moreover, the country has embryonic and vibrant social economy movements. These scenarios are truer in the Country, the area of study, where social enterprises are not only needed but also they are stepping into rehabilitation of survivors of the Congo recent conflicts. The goal of this study was to frame Rehabilitative Social Entrepreneurship (ReSE). Using empirical data collected from 100 informants that are involving in entrepreneurial activities in DRC, especially in Bukavu, Goma and Ituri, we investigate on the relationship between social entrepreneurship, disenfranchised survivors’ empowerment and their Rehabilitation processes. Collected data were analyzed using interpretative analysis of the constructs we elaborate. The Study findings indicated that through the mediating role of Community empowerment, social entrepreneurship contributes significantly to psychosocial and economic reintegration of survivors. Thus the study frames Rehabilitative Social entrepreneurship as a process which considers not only opportunity recognition, innovation and social capital but also incorporating empowerment of disenfranchised survivors in post-conflict situation in which they are embedded. From the study findings, the following recommendations were made: as partnering to the social economy, social entrepreneurship in DRC should be developed by a clear and strong vision and policy to facilitate their effectiveness in creating socioeconomic values nexus, especially in both enhancing social and economic integration of people who are socially and economically excluded, and then facilitate ownership and promotion of local empowerment among individual community member in developing country.-
