Over the years, the Cameroon government has been making effort to increase rural development through development agencies such as the UNVDA, but attaching very little importance to resource management. These studies adopt an interdisciplinary approach to provide an account of why Ndop is still backward in terms of socio- economic development. The studies assumes that rural development enhance socio-economic development in rural areas and empowers an appropriate framework for responding efficiently to the needs of the local populace. By this perspective, empowerment can boost development by providing capacities, values, and avenues for local people to fully participate in decision making and any meaningful efforts towards improving their lives. This thesis hopes to analyze the role of development authority agency UNVDA in increasing rural development in Cameroon. It hope to bring out evidence on the Impact of UNVDA in the socio-economic development of Ndop this will be analyze using the quantitative approach and also using the comparative model. The study reveals that in Cameroon there is decentralization without empowerment and secondly rural masse are still not empowered therefor do not participate fully in the development of Ndop.-
